Thanks for the pictures and the details about your experience putting the kits together – it looks like you did a great job!
I have certainly tried to improve the construction methods and instructions since version 2, so it’s good to know I’m on the right track. Cheers!

Hi – one thing to keep in mind is that these areas are invisible on the inflated packraft, so don’t be reluctant to spread the Seam Grip or Aquaseal onto the tube fabric there, as any discoloration will not be noticeable. A thin layer spread wide should do the trick, especially if you have a zipper in your boat and are able to apply it to the…[Read more]

If anybody is building an older V2 kit, I have a small tweak to the construction that you might try. This is particularly useful if you are building the V2 in the style of the newer kits. I came upon the idea because I built a Skeena (a 4th generation design) and soon after a friend gave me an old V2 kit that he never built.
The V2 has a…[Read more]

I built a red Skeena using the “Leather Iron”, and it was a ton of fun to make. The instructions were great and it went together very well. I took it pretty slow and just did a bit each evening for a couple weeks and weekends. I really want to thank both Matt and the forum members (especially Bruce) for all the great descriptions and information.…[Read more]

Took my Skeena out for her maiden voyage in Montana! Super stoked with my boat, it was super maneuverable and tracked better than I expected for such a small raft.
It took me more like 80hrs to build but I blame my poor grip strength for that. I’m still struggling with 3 leaks at the 1-2 and 3-4 tube to floor seams. It floated fine, I just had to…[Read more]

The new packraft by Anfibio uses a roll top closure for lugage storage instead of a zipper. They say they use “special technology” and claim there’s no loss of pressure.

Hi.
You should use Coton-240 whit the seam sealer glue to speed up things. Correct use with Coton-240 and seam grip sealer glue would cure in 2 houres.
Best regards

I have several major leaks that all seem (ha) to be coming from where tube-to-tube seams meet the floor. This undoubtedly stems from making my reinforcement strips too long and interfering with the seam strip and trying to go back and fix this and losing some TPU in the process. Any suggestions for plugging these up besides using ungodly amounts…[Read more]
