Hi, I´m working on a Telkwa and had started to build up some self confidence about the heat sealing process, but then…

I had joined the first two tube parts (3R and 2R) and happily attached seam seal onto the inside of the seam before going to bed.

Yesterday when I continued the work I was looking for the video on my phone but notised that I somehow had missed a video last time i scrolled, now i could see that I had missed to attach a strip on the inside of the floor slit, normally it wouldn’t be a problem if I hadn’t been applying seam seal, what a moron!

So, what now then? Is it meaningful to, for example,  cut out that part and replace with a piece of floor fabric that will make two seams instead, or should I hope for the best when I´m going fishing this summer?

Thanks for advise / AndersFloor slit without strip inside

Thanks for a fast reply Matt, that cheered me up! 🙂 I’m continuing little by little, sneaking out to the garage inbetween all other stuff that is calling on my attention during spingtime.

Excellent – in my opinion, that’s the best way to do it – a little at a time, so you don’t get sick of it. Cheers 🙂

Hi Anders – don’t worry! It’s not necessary to go back and change anything – just carry on. Those inside reinforcements are only for extra strength (the Skeena and other packraft models don’t have them, and that has never caused a problem). If you are really concerned, you could add a wider reinforcing strip that bridges across the sealant, but again, it is not necessary.

      Cheers 🙂
