Awesome! I placed my order (with note) this morning. I’ll be sure to post about the build process and how it goes incorporating the rod holders. Also ordered the heating iron and silicone roller from aliexpress last week and they should be here soon, and I already have your fabric sample set from the shop to practice with. Getting excited!

I printed a couple of these (no scaling) and they fit perfectly. I had to dial in the resolution for the threading, but even the rough prints threaded on (they bled just enough air to make it difficult to overcome the valve).

Well, I don’t think a heavier TPU material will work with your current construction. The forces applied ar simply too much, even with heavier material for the sleeves.
I look at the dyneema rope. The sleeve for the rope has ripped in the hole where the rope comes out. If you would have a small diameter piece of aluminium tubing in the sleeve…[Read more]

I haven’t tried it, so it would be a bit of an experiment, but I think that would be okay. I would make the parts that attach to the packraft’s tubes out of the standard weight fabric… there should be enough of that in the kit, but add a note to your order reminding me about this and I’ll make sure to add some extra. Cheers!

I am saving towards the Ultralight packraft kit and am wondering if it would be strong enough for fishing rod holders like these: https://www.diypackraft.com/construction/how-to/fishing-rod-holder/
I do a lot of backpacking and day hiking to alpine lakes and enjoy the fishing and would like to incorporate rod holders when I build. Would there b…[Read more]

Hi,
Inspired by Tim’s catyak http://www.cubenmaker.com/?2
I wanted to make an easier to assemble catyak, with minimal rigid frame. I knew I will face difficulties and failures but hoped to find solutions. So after a lot of thinking and welding , I made it . Unfortunately as you can see at picture, the fabric sockets holding the crossbars…[Read more]
