Edit…. Looks like bulk sales are suspended right now so I won’t be able to make that brace after all. Feel free to throw in some extra scraps in that sample pack if you want 😂

Hello from Utah, I don’t know how I end up on this website but now I have a sample pack ordered and a goal to make a foot brace for my current pack raft. If that goes well maybe over the winter I’ll make a DIY pack raft.

Hey there, I’m in Ogden. I know this is an old post but if you’re still around I’d love to talk and maybe plan a trip!

It sounds like your storage method is a good one! Your question inspired me to make a video showing how I fold and roll packrafts, and I’ve posted it here: https://www.diypackraft.com/construction/how-to/pack-carry-and-store-a-packraft/
Cheers!

Hi Aaron – your welds look good, and it sounds like they are holding just fine. I usually see some variation in the transparency of the welds (especially in the yellow and red fabrics), so that’s nothing to worry about. Do try to use the roller to squeeze out the air bubbles, but they look fine.
I’m going to answer the other part of your question…[Read more]

Hi!
I have a couple questions before fully moving onto 2R and 2L on my Skeena. Things seem to be going well so far!
The outside floor part of 3L has some overlap from where it should have ended up based on the dot above. Right now I’ve just sealed to the line I made, but is it alright to seal that fully down and then trim 2L at the slit between…[Read more]

After Pilotpeat posted a question in the forum about packrafting paddles, I decided to make a permanent page to address the subject in the FAQ. Here’s the paddle page.
I also received an email from Kait P. […]

Excellent question, and I’m surprised it hasn’t come up before! You’ve prompted me to make a dedicated page about this topic (so it won’t get buried here in the forum over time). It’s a work in progress, but it’s posted here: https://www.diypackraft.com/faq/packrafting-paddles/

I’ve done some searching in the forum but haven’t found what I am looking for yet. Looking for information about paddles that break down into 3 or preferably 4 pieces. What is everyone using? What kind of budget should I be looking at? What is a reasonable weight?
Based in the US if that matters.
thanks!
