Confirming not-a-bot-ness… Have been on the fence about building one of these for awhile… Looks like every inflatable kayak I was alsocalso is sold out for the season, so that may tip me over the edge into DIY-raft land. I guess I have about 24 hours to research and decide to make the order deadline! 🙂

Hi Matt- I’m excited to get building my Skeena packraft. I got a Coverite Black Baron iron and it is working well. The instructions look great and it looks like a fun build. Thanks! Bill

As mentioned in a previous post, I will be away on a packrafting trip for the month of August and so I will not be processing orders during that time. Because it takes a couple of weeks to make a packraft kit, I […]

There are lots of packrafting videos online, but most of them focus on the paddling and don’t show much of the hiking and camping part. I prefer videos that have a bit of a story to them, so I decided to try […]

I really like that video. Great pictures and good music and I’m with you, I also like this mixture of backpacking, nature and water. You have an awesome backyard!

Thanks! Yeah, I moved away from the city four years ago and I am very happy here 😀

Thanks, Barry – it’s a Zpacks Arc Blast. I plan to post reviews of all of my gear this fall/winter.

@admin Hi, fresh member here. I’m gathering knowledge and resources to make an ul flatwater packraft for myself. Hence a question: should I prefer a 70d nylon 66 ripstop with 0.03mm tpu or a 30d nylon 66 ripstop with 0.06mm tpu. Both come in at about 115gsm. Anybody know any source in the EU for suitable fabric around that weight or up to 150gsm?
-
There are more parameters to consider than just denier and TPU thickness, so I would get samples of any fabrics you are considering and then do some heat sealing and destructive testing to see which one performs best relative to your needs… it’s not a simple question, so I can’t give you a definitive answer.
