    Clover Mini Iron II Modification

Check out this completely inflatable pontoon boat built by Ron S. It’s designed for fishing and drifting down rivers, and the goal was to make something lightweight that he could easily hop on and off of wearing waders. Here’s what Ron had to say about it:

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the inspirations.

I am going to make it from the kit and have to have a sealing iron.

Got no Clover Mini here so have to do modification on my 20W ham soldering iron.

That is what I could do with limited mech and metal resources at home.

Got a piece of an inch wide and 1/8 thick brass metal to make the tip, this is what…[Read more]

Hi Eric – thanks for joining 🙂

I’ll answer the part here that wasn’t covered in the whitewater topic.

You could definitely add a second layer of fabric to the inside bottom of an inflatable floor – you would just have to cut “windows” in it so the top layer of the floor could be attached to the bottom layer (either using baffles, or by joining…[Read more]

    Hi Matt,

Great site and you have me excited in only the way a beginner can be 🙂 I’m ready to place an order but wanted to iron a couple of things out.

Where I live (Newfoundland) where I will do the most of my paddling the shores and streams are filled with pretty sharp rocks. I anticipate mostly class 1-2 with a rare class 3 if I decide it’s…[Read more]

    Hi there,
Received the kit and additional materials this morning, everything is in good shape.
Thanks Matt a lot for the great product.
I have to modify my soldering iron first before doing some practice on heat sealing of the tpu.
    Hope everything works out fine.
    Good day!

On the good side, the fabric has arrived.. And we will wait in patience… 😉
Maybe you should have under-valued the fabrics… Then the Customs guys wouldn’t have been suspicious 😉

Please keep us posted on your cruiser deck, as it looks like you’re on the right track 🙂
