Has this become a standard part of the plan for the v4 boats? Or is there another method for keeping the seat in place?

Hmm, strange assertion since none of the Alpackas are multi chamber as far as I know. Those are definitely pro tools not pool toys.

How much is the zipper on it’s own, I don’t see an option to add that to my cart in the store

That looks like the way to do it. I basically want that, but in the lighter weight that would be possible with the 210D fabric. Could put a floor in it and put it together just like a DIY Packraft…I would just need someone to model it out for me in software.
Anyone on here game? I could also see if someone on Fiver could do it

I recently picked up a slightly used Koko Nirvana w/ spray deck & accessories for WW use. However, I’m about to try my hand building a UL DIY for mountain lakes BP’ing etc.
I live in Northern Utah & I’d love to touch base with anyone who has built one already. I’m also looking to join an experienced WW group in the area that wouldn’t mind a fas…[Read more]

It failed on the yellow/blue seam shown in the pic in this post. Right below the guys butt. It failed on the inboard aspect of the boat.
I spoke with him today and apparently he was fidgeting around quite a bit with legs/hips, and he feels he put too much outward pressure on that seam. The guy paddling in this photo is light, it didn’t fail in…[Read more]

This is exactly my thought…learn on building a UL DIYPackraft (at less than 2#) as I too want it for my simple “backpacking alpine lake boat”…then maybe move on making something more advanced.
In the mean time I did recently came across & purchased a very SLIGHTLY used 2018 Kokopelli Nervana with spray deck & accessories for about 1/2…[Read more]

Thanks for posting this, Derek! We can all be glad that it ended well (more or less) and we can learn from the experience – but man, what a scare! I’m so glad you’re all okay.
Just yesterday I was thinking that maybe I should write a post or make a video about cold weather packrafting, and you’ve spurred me into action. For now, here’s a related…[Read more]

Happy Thanksgiving! No bots here, just an interested packrafter. I have a KokoP Nervana with TiZip & splashdeck.
I already have my whitewater…but it is heavier for obvious reasons. So…I think for $200, I might try an ultra light (packs smaller & weighs less than 2#). I want one for accessing, fishing & crossing mountain lakes…I already have…[Read more]

Wanted to post this not to bash DIYpackraft, but to raise awareness.
I have been paddling my huge tandem Voyageur packraft for almost two years down all sorts of rivers, back and forth to my boat when anchored in Alaska, hauling deer back to my boat, catching king and coho salmon from it, hauling hundreds of pounds of sockeye, adult men, and many…[Read more]

Matt (Admin) replied to the topic Skeena/Telkwa review wanted re: handling and comparison to other boats in the forum DIY Packrafts 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi Robin,
The Skeena and Telkwa models are so new that probably only a handful of people have finished building theirs, and I’m not sure how many of them have paddled the other packrafts you’re interested in, so it might be a while before you get a useful review. In the meantime, I started writing some notes about things to consider and what to…[Read more]

Matt (Admin) replied to the topic urgent help – fixing mistake v3 in the forum DIY Packrafts 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi Sean, I’ve found that the TPU to non-TPU welds aren’t very strong, and with all the rolling and unrolling a packraft goes through, it probably won’t hold forever, so I’d put some Seam Grip (or similar) around the edges so if it does separate there at least it won’t leak. The seam sealing glue isn’t great as a structural adhesive either, though.…[Read more]
