In the meantime, I picked up a Klymit LWD for dirt cheap on Amazon.  It didn’t do too bad on it’s maiden voyage on a backcountry lake.

Check posts 2248, 2771, and 2901 for fabrics from Seattle and Rockywoods. There are many other posts here from people who have tried other fabrics and concluded that it was a mistake. 500den TPU Cordura from extremtextil

FYI: I have just made a test weld on this with a strip of Matt’s camo fabric, using the hot air gun, and can report that the result is perfect. The heat-sealed bonds are actually stronger than the fabric itself (you can see this demonstrated in the fabric comparison video), so reinforcing the seams by sewing or adding wider strips over them would not increase the durability of the packraft overall unless you reinforce the tube fabric as well. so I was wondering if I buy a large packraft and then want to get extra strips to heat seal on the seams would this actually increase the seam strength ofr do you think that would be pointless?
