I know a number of people have added zippers to both of those brands and it should work the same way. Cheers!

It’s the same – just a bit cheaper to change the plug. Cheers!

Is there a difference between finding a china to us travel adapter vs modifying it as Matt has shown for the aliexpress leather iron? It seems easier to just plug to an adapter vs taking it apart. I do not understand electricity well.
Thanks!

If we use a travel adapter, would it work as well as the way that Matt modifies that same iron?

TL;DR: Any order placed during the COVID-19 pandemic may be subject to unavoidable shipping delays; by placing an order, you accept this possibility and agree to wait.
For up-to-date postal service status […]

Hey Matt,
Wondering if you are still shipping out kits? I’m in Toronto, so it within Canada but still, just wanted to see if something’s changed since you posted this. The situation being so fluid and all.

Yep, I’m still shipping kits and I will continue to do so unless I get sick. DIY Packraft is a one-man operation and I work from home, so I am able to maintain physical distance from people – the pandemic hasn’t disrupted business in that regard. I would be extremely surprised if postal services were suspended within North America, given how much people are relying on online purchases to sustain themselves while staying at home. (The post offices have implemented physical distancing procedures as well, but I purchase shipping labels online, so I have minimal interaction with postal workers anyway.) I will post an update if anything changes, but until then, things are relatively normal here.

Ruedi replied to the topic Gluing something to a packraft in the forum DIY Packrafts 5 years, 11 months ago
I think a try with a so called transfer tape could probably be a solution for this. I’m using 3M’s 9472 LE transfer tape to glue Dyneema for folding kayak hulls. The tape is expensive, but easy to apply, and the bond is very strong. I used it some days ago to glue two pieces of tpu coated nylon together. The tape connects the two tpu coated sides.…[Read more]

According to an information I got from from McNett, the maker of Aquaseal, exactly the same product is sold in Europe under the name Aqua Sure (to be found e.g on amazon.de).

Hi Everyone,
Just got my Skeena kit and am very excited to be here. I am a Youtuber “Influencer” whatever that means. But you will get to see my foray into the DIY Packraft world and hope to help Matt’s effort. This is going to be so much fun.
Take care
Bruce

I am summarizing my experiences with shipment to Germany and the customs process so that people know what to expect.
Once the Order shipped from Canada, I received a Canada Post tracking number. The parcel took 4 days to arrive at the main Customs office at Frankfurt airport. There it stayed for 11 days until on day 12 it started moving to a…[Read more]

In my photo darkroom I have a Seal tacking iron I use for dry mounting prints. It’s 145W and when it’s set on high it’s working really well for doing the floor welds. The bottom is teflon coated which is nice.
It is a bit too wide for the tube strips. I may be able to make it work but I have an aliexpress iron showing up any day just in case.
