Black Packrafts

I don’t normally offer black packraft kits because of the increased hazard of over-pressurizing the air inside the tubes as the fabric heats up in the sun, which could damage the packraft if you don’t let out some air to reduce the pressure.

Over-pressurization is potentially a hazard with all colors, but black fabric absorbs more solar radiation than lighter colors.

If you still want to order a black packraft kit, that’s fine – just order a different color and add a note to the order saying you want black instead. (Depending on fabric stock, this may not be possible, so send a message through the Contact page to check first.)
