I hope this isn’t a repost, I searched but didn’t find anything.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to install a Backband for the front paddler in a voyageur (facing forward)?
In the absence of a DIY option I would probably buy the Alpacka Backband.
The one issue I see is that backbands. Typically have two forward side attachments (no…[Read more]

I’m planning to build a 6′ (72″) voyageur to fit three (including a baby). Just ordered the parts last Friday. Will let you know how it turns out space-wise.

Hi Robin – with the lightweight fabric, you may be able to use a slightly lower temperature, and to avoid bubbles I like to use the edge of my iron and slide it outward, rather than using the large flat part. Hi,
I am attempting to make a drybag packliner with the 40d fabric, both because I need one and because I want to get the hang of this before trying to make the raft. (and I am waiting on the release of the new UL kit!)
Anyway I got my iron and checked the temp with a IR thermometer I have. I adjusted the thermostat so that the tip of the iron…[Read more]

When I made the Voyageur longer it was my first packraft build and I screwed some stuff up. If I had to do it over again, I’d say no, it is not harder, just more time consuming by adding a couple seams.
I can’t answer your question about self-bailer. If you buy a Big Agnes, be sure it fits your floor length. My Voyageur is gigantic, and it fi…[Read more]
