Description
Lightweight ripstop nylon fabric with a thin, heat-sealable polyurethane (TPU) coating on both sides (see Fabrics for definitions).
Weight is approximately 190 grams per square meter (5.6 ounces per square yard).
This is the stronger form of nylon, used in things like parachutes, airbags, and military applications, and it has a significantly higher melting point than other heat-sealable fabrics, so you are less likely to damage it with a heat sealing iron.
Fabric is sold from the roll by the linear meter (1 meter = 1.094 yard) and the usable width is approximately 147 cm (58″). This means that 1 “meter” of fabric by length equals 1.47 square meters (~1.8 square yards) of usable fabric, which weighs approximately 280 grams (10 oz).

Notes:
- Fabric will be folded for shipping – you can iron it flat with a household iron set to temperatures below ~150 °C (300 °F)
- Before purchasing fabric elsewhere, please read this thread in the forum to avoid wasting money on inferior products.
- The manufacturing process may leave minor cosmetic imperfections in the fabric. These will not affect the strength of the fabric.
