Just wanted to share some photos of my V3 kit.
I outfitted it as a light weight whitewater boat with three point thigh straps, a backband and a whitewater deck with a cockpit coaming.
Several of us ran laps on a local class II in it for it’s maiden voyage.
Coming from a rafting and whitewater kayaking background, the packraft performed really…[Read more]

Hey – just a quick update to let you know that I’m back from my vacation and catching up on emails and orders, so please be patient – the normal 1-3 business days for shipping new orders does not apply.

hi matt, just would like to confirm my order with you as I received my boa bill yesterday. I realize you are not a robot and would just like to be reassured. thank-you.
-
Hi Sigrid – yes, your order has already shipped. Please check your Spam folder if you did not receive a shipment notification and tracking info from Canada Post. Thanks!

Hi Matt, my order made on February 1, 2018 is still “Processing”. This is the first time I place an order and I was wondering if this is normal. Thank you

Yep – please see the banner at the top of the website indicating a 1-2 week wait time for new orders. Thanks!

Hello! Matt is helping me do some brainstorming on how to proceed. I will for sure post up the progress and how it ended up! It might not be the prettiest packraft, but as long as it can get me and a big pack across a lake I’ll be happy!

Hi Logan,
Sorry for the delay – I’m currently traveling with limited access to the forum.
It’s not uncommon to have some misalignment but this amount seems like a lot. It looks like your piece 2 might be a bit wrinkled where it’s attached to the floor, which may account for it – make sure to keep the pieces flat and tight when sealing. Can you s…[Read more]

Hey Logan!
I havn’t started building my packraft yet but I’d be curious to know how you proceeded. Did it work out in the end?

question for the experienced DIYers out there..
Small or big problem? As seen in photo I’m attempting to seal pieces 1-2 together. For some reason piece 2 is waaay off from where it is supposed to be. Previous to this I sealed seam 3 down and it was about 2cm off from where it was supposed to be as well. I couldn’t figure out why it kept coming…[Read more]

If you order an adjustable Leather Iron through Aliexpress, like the Jingda first discovered by Lynn, you may want to also order a 3-prong US plug adaptor. They are inexpensive ($0.66 with free shipping), but hard to find on Aliexpress. Here is a link for one. I haven’t ordered it, just wanted to provide the link so others might. I will order one…[Read more]

I haven’t made many paddling videos this year, so I thought it might be fun to post a montage of video clips from some of my packrafting adventures in 2017. I couldn’t find any decent royalty-free music, so please […]

I should have been clear that I am actually getting MasterSeal 6’s from them which are lighter for my purposes.

dwhite replied to the topic TiZip MasterSeal 6 in the forum DIY Packrafts 8 years, 8 months ago
Thank you Lyn. I ordered two. The chain length is 19 cm, so a little short for my purpose but it will work.

dwhite replied to the topic Seamgrip vs Aquaseal in the forum DIY Packrafts 8 years, 8 months ago
I also use Seam Grip as an excellent cover for abrasion exposed areas. It is very abrasion resistant and won’t peel away. Simply brush over the area of the material that is abraded and it will extend its wear life significantly.
