Hi David,
I think it’s worth trying – it’s one of those things I’ve been meaning to try for ages but haven’t got around to, myself. What I’m not sure about is the longevity of a glued joint on the inside of the tube fabric, and what’s the best adhesive to use. Some people have reported that a glue called HH-66 works well, but I can’t find it…[Read more]

Hi Markus,
It sounds like the air is escaping through the zipper – a few small bubbles could add up to 1-2 breaths per hour, no? This could probably be resolved by cleaning the zipper and reapplying lubricant. If the zipper isn’t leaking and the seams are all sealed and the fabric isn’t damaged and there’s no dirt in the Boston valve or top-up…[Read more]

Ping ping ball paddles work great. I found that the kayak paddles are a bit awkward. With 2 separate paddles I can better prevent getting water in the boat and avoid moving the tail end of the boat back and forth as I paddle. Someone showed me a set of paddles they had made using sign board like you find in political campaign signs and reinforced…[Read more]

I have a background in driving RIBs and SIBs, in one of those bursting a tube, even a catastrophic failure, will certainly end your fun for the day but isn’t really going to cause too much of a problem and certainly won’t sink you as for example my Bombard Aerotec has 3 main air chambers.
Which set me thinking about making my Telkwa 2 chambers,…[Read more]

Hi,
I have just finished my v3 packraft. I fixed all the seams with Seamgrip and after closing some small leaks I can´t find any more using soapy water. Only at the end of the zipper there are some small bubbles.
But the raft still loses some air (about 1-2 deep breathes per hour). Is this normal or has one of you a boat which keeps all the air…[Read more]

Very neat, I’m sure I have an old thermarest with a damaged corner kicking about somewhere I will have a go with.

Year two on my ghetto Voyageur build. Paddled 11 miles today on a bear hunt, didn’t find a bear. Pictured with a full pack, rifle, and two crab pots. This thing is ugly, but it serves a purpose.
